Hi I'm Eric

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am husband and a father. I am a high school art teacher, a freelance graphic designer, a painter and sculptor, and an all around lover of art. I'm a percussionist/drummer and enjoy performing and listening to all kinds of music from reggae to spiritual hymns. I use surfing as a means of exercise, enjoyment, and escape (from the normal grind).

Why I am a Mormon

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am an imperfect man... But a man who is trying none-the-less. What do I know? I do not go to church because I'm perfect... I go because I'm not. The gospel of Jesus Christ has served to keep me continually grounded in truth. I enjoy life and I am very grateful for the one that I've been given. That being said, life is far from easy. Whether it be my marriage, my teenagers, my job, or whatever, it is my faith in Christ that helps me to find and focus on solutions to challenges. Through prayer, I know that God is real and that he loves me. By listening to the words of his chosen servants, past or present, I get real answers. I know where I come from, why I am here, and where I will go after death. Membership in Christ's church has given me ongoing opportunities to serve to others and to be the recipient of support when necessary. The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-Day Saints is true. The Spirit of the Holy Ghost has burned the truth of this to my core.

How I live my faith

The Lord has blessed us all with talents. Likewise, we all have weaknesses as well. I have endeavored to share my artistic and musical talents whenever possible in the promotion of worthwhile causes whether it be to raise awareness of health, service, emergency preparedness, or simply to promote or participate in culturally enriching events. I frequently express thanks to the Lord for these talents and opportunities to use them for good. Aside from using my talents, I've been put into situations that I have not felt especially confident in and found myself relying on the Lord and the patience and assistance of others to help my weaknesses and shortcomings become strengths.
