Hi I'm Rachael

I love creating delectable desserts. I'm a student's wife and a working Mom. I fight depression. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 25 years old and I recently completed a Bachelors degree in Health Administration. I love to bake and spend time playing with my almost preschooler daughter. Together, she and I work hard to provide a fun and loving home for our husband and father as he toughs out the final years of his graduate education in Veterinary Medicine. When the sun is shining we love to swim, go for walks and jogs, play at the park, and go on adventures. I have spent the last two and a half years completing my degree and staying home with my wonderful daughter. I spent several months trying to find a job and get back into the workforce and now I've finally made it. When I have free time I enjoy exercising, baking, digital scrapbooking, and chatting on the phone with my twin sister. I fight depression. After becoming a parent I also became one of the millions of women fighting Post-partum depression and this battle has ensued for several years now. It's a great struggle to endure, establishing proper medicactions and such to stablize the body, but the fight is worth it. Every day I remind myself that the Lord has blessed us with medication and medical help to overcome our physical and mortal struggles, and if we work hard and seek His help, we can persevere. I know that God won't take away all of our problems, but He will provide a way and help us to get through them.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know there is more to life than just living and dying. Though there is much to learn in this world, our knowledge, experiences, and relationships will extend beyond our time here on Earth. With continuing prayer, faith, repentance, and hard work I have gained a sure knowledge of these things through the Holy Ghost. This knowledge confirms to me that Joseph Smith restored Christ's original church to the earth; that The Book of Mormon is a testament of Jesus Christ; that God has given us a Prophet on the earth for our time; And that I am a Child of God and through the Atoning Sacrifice of Jesus Christ I can, one day, live again in the presence of Heavenly Father, my Savior, and those that I love. This is why I'm here, why I persevere through the daily struggles of life, and why I know that I cannot give up.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making a conscious effort to be Christ-like every day. I have the opportunity to serve in my home as a wife and mother, and in the community as a ward councilor for the Young Women's organization, serving teenage-girls ages 12 to 18. I get to mentor and teach these awesome young ladies about life, love, spirituality, family, scriptures, and so many other things. In return, I get to have friendships with great girls from all walks of life, learn from their examples, and feel the love that God has for them. I don't do anything out of the ordinary, but I do try to be optimistic about things and treat everyone kindly, regardless of differences. I know that these efforts don't go unnoticed by God, and that is evident to me through the joy in my life, even with the trials.
