Hi I'm Bob

I grew up in Hershey, PA, now live near Atlanta, GA with my wife Donna, and our dog Casey. I'm an architect, weaver and a Mormon.

About Me

As an Architect, I have worked on large Hospitality projects like high-rise hotels, conference centers, resorts; and some school, office, and industrial projects as well. Several years ago, I was laid off and started my own firm working at home on several medical facilities with an associate of mine. My friend Mike and I started a furniture company based on a table concept I designed 40 years ago while studying in Italy. The tables are a very high-end contemporary design. We're really excited about this new venture. I also enjoy weaving. With two looms in the house, I'm constantly working on several projects at once. Scarves and shawls are my specialty, but I also design and weave large wall hangings.

Why I am a Mormon

My wife and I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1974, after a co-worker shared the Book of Mormon with my wife. We were taught the gospel discussions by two men who were called as Stake Missionaries. When I was asked to pray at the end of our first discussion, about the young boy Joseph Smith and his amazing experience in the sacred grove, the spirit burned so strongly within me. I could not deny what I felt, and I knew it was the Holy Ghost bearing testimony of the truthfulness of what I had just heard. I will never forget that moment as long as I live...that moment changed my life forever. I have a strong testimony of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. The fulness of the true Gospel has been restored to the earth in this dispensation; and just as in the ancient church, we also have a prophet and apostles leading the church today. I know the Book of Mormon is true and is a second witness, along with the Holy Bible, of the divinity of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ sacrificed his mortal life for all of us. I accept him as my Saviour and have committed my life to following him. I believe that we have a Heavenly Father who created us in the spirit and gave us mortal life. We are given the opportunity to learn good from evil, and to have JOY in this life and in the next, where we can live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ eternally.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy my membership in the Church. Currently I serve as the Executive Secretary to the Bishop and his Counsellors, who are the leaders in our local ward. I prepare meeting agendas, keep minutes, and set up appointments for members to meet with the leadership. My wife and I are also Ordinance Workers in the Atlanta Temple. We enjoy serving in the Temple, where worthy members receive sacred instruction and knowledge of eternal principles; and also where families can receive the promise of eternal life together.
