Hi I'm Matthew Freeman

I'm on a mission Serving the Lord. I enjoy doing extreme sports and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors, especially the sports like Rock-Climbing, Power Kiting, Kayaking etc... I work as a Teacher Assistant, and also a Rock Climbing & Power Kite Instructor. I'm currently Single. My goal in life is to become an Outdoor Instructor, but to maintain my morals and standards that are attached to my Faith. I try to keep myself busy with everything that I do, for that's how I like to be. I am a Photography and would take or look at pictures as often as occasion would permit. I love working with children, helping them to discover the skills that they never knew they had. My moto is "Happiness lives within those who share it, so do what you can, when you can".

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, because I needed to know that I was no accident, that I had an actual reason or purpose to live, something to let me know that I was no accident. I was raised in the church and so yes maybe I was influenced. But I know when I say I wanted to know for myself, influence or no influence I was finding out for me, and no one else. So I took up the challenge in reading The Book of Mormon to find out if it was true. At the time I had negative feelings towards the church. However, I needed to know what was true, and what was not. My experience was similar to some but unique to me. As I asked in uttered prayer each night kneeling by me bed side, my thoughts, my negative attitude, my desires began to change, and most noticeably my countenance. I felt more happier, I wanted to help/serve others, and I had an inner peace. This was my literal change of heart. I wasn't happy before I read, but I was happy after I read. What greater experience could you have? Most importantly, it was accompanied by the very Holy Spirit we speak and hear of in the scriptures, that brought the same fruits we read of into my life. Coincidence? I think not. Now I know that Joseph Smith was indeed the prophet of the restoration of this church, that very church that bears His name, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Book of Mormon is true, and you aren't going to know any other way, but by reading and praying about it, so the sooner you do it, the sooner you'll know. I made my choice, what will you choose?

How I live my faith

As a member I try to be the best I can be, for I know that blessings come from being obedient, and I need those blessings. I served a full time mission honorably, and since then have reaped the blessings. In our church we receive callings (responsibilities) and mine is a Ward Mission Leader. This means I help co-ordinate the missionary work within the local community. I help put on musical nights and various activities for member or non-members to have a little bit of fun and get to know our faith if they choose to ask questions.
