Hi I'm Chris Hodge

I'm a son. I'm a brother. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm just your average teen, except i have been called to serve a mission to the people of Bolivia. I intend to spread the message of the Lord's love to everyone i can. Though i miss my family every day, i know they are blessed by my continued commitment to the lord and the people of Bolivia. My mom raised me as a single parent from the time i was about 5 to just a few years ago, when she met my step-father, who is an amazing guy. It was hard, but we made it through, and my mom, my brothers and I are all stronger for it. It taught us how to persevere.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't Always a Mormon. When my mom met my birth father, she kind of moved away from the church, so i didn't spend my early years in church, and i remember clearly what it was like. My father was in and out of drugs, and went through several other dark patches of life, so we as a family suffered. But, things began improving as soon as she became active again, and we got to feel the blessings. Mom went to college, got a degree in teaching, and for the first time in a long time, we had a real house. Granted, there were still hard times, but it was nice to be the happy family we'd been looking for. What's more, she never would have met my step-father if it wasn't for the church. I picked up an online game called World of Warcraft, which i still play, and my mom wanted to play it too, cause my friend who introduced it to me played it with his parents. All in all, the church has helped at the strangest, yet most opportune times.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by constantly trying to help people. A very close friend calls it being a "fixer" but I just like to think I feel an overwhelming desire to help others. I've been the leader of my youth group twice, and served in the presidency on other occasions, so i enjoy serving in that respect. One of the most amazing things I like to do is when we plan a giant service project for the youth, and we go out and make some one smile. It always makes my day just that much better to know I helped someone. Also, the church has really good dating rules and rules for social stuff, like not dating till we're 16, or always having a chaperon/going on group dates to prevent any dangerous situations. It's nice to be able to go to church every Sunday and Wednesday and be with my ward family and my brothers and sisters in the mission field.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Chris Hodge
As every prophet in the Old Testament, New Testament, and Book of Mormon have said, the best way to grow your faith in Christ is to read the scriptures and prayerfully ponder them. This advise has helped me time after time with my many problems between family, work, school, and even now in the mission field. Show more Show less
