Hi I'm Cori

Married to a wonderful woman. Father of three great kids. Lived in 6 different states and 4 different countries. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of three wonderful kids (ages 6, 4 and 1). I have an MBA. I work in Human Resources for a Fortune 100 company. I love sports. I coached high school soccer for a couple of years. I lived in Argentina for two years as a missionary for our church. I've lived in New Zealand and Australia (both when I was young - my Dad was helping set up a company there). I love college football and college basketball. I enjoy running (competing in short races - 5k). I'm an Eagle Scout. I love to camp, hike and fish. I'm an avid downhill skier. I like to garden and work outside in my yard. I enjoy serving my fellowman. I enjoy working with the youth.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I want to be like Him, I seek to be like Him. I feel that the Church of Jesus Christ has the fulness of the gospel and thus leads me closer to my Savior than any other church upon the earth. I believe other churches have pieces of the gospel, but not the fulness, and I want all people to know and receive the blessings of the restored church . I believe the Priesthood of God (the power of God given to men to serve each other and to direct His church), has once again been given to men on earth. I am grateful to hold that Priesthood and to be able to bless the lives of my wife, children and others who are in need. I believe in personal revelation and testify of my own experience that Heavenly Father talks to men on earth. I have not seen Him, nor our Savior, but I know they are real, I know they live. I know this through the power of the Holy Ghost - the quiet and sweet whispering of that member of the Godhead who can speak to each and every one of us if we will live our lives in such a way that we are able to listen and hear. I believe in the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ. I believe He overcame death so that ALL MANKIND will live again. I believe He also overcame Satan and thus has redeemed us from sin IF we choose to follow Him and obey His commandments. I believe in the gift of repentance - I believe in justice, and mercy. Christ fulfills the law of justice so that His mercy can be extended to us as we choose to turn our hearts to Him. I love my Savior. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the leader for a group of 60 men in our Ward and I really enjoy serving with them - each one has a unique background, testimony, family and personality and I learn from my opportunities to interact with them. I love to teach the gospel and get a chance to teach about once every couple of months. I particularly enjoy sharing personal experiences and hearing the faith promoting experiences of the other men and women at church. We recently participated in cleaning up a mile long stretch of road near our church. We put in some simple landscaping and pulled weeds, picked up trash along the mile-long stretch. We had a approximately 250 church members show up to volunteer their time. I play on our church softball and basketball teams. I used to work in our Boy Scout program and love to work with the young men - I find they are very talented and have strong hearts and minds but need encouragement and support as they build confidence in living a Christlike life.
