Hi I'm Louise

I'm a Mormon. I am a convert. I have only been a member since August 2004.

About Me

I was born and raised in Washington state. I served 4 years in the military. I have traveled clear across the world to meet my husband in Okinawa, Japan. We have been married for almost 20 years. I am currently a stay at home mom. I have been a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since August of 2004. I was raised a devout Catholic. Then I joined the military & went to Catholic churches in Okinawa & Scotland. I have 4 kids (3 teenage girls) and a boy. I love reading, sewing, cooking, Zumba, and shopping.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because the Church just felt right! My mom had been trying to convince me to listen to Missionaries for a few year. But I had not been interested at all. I wasn't going to any Catholic churches anymore, and my husband was an atheist. Finally the local ward had a Easter egg hunt. I was home alone with 4 kids, because my husband was in the US Navy and gone to sea ALOT! So I decided it was a free activity for my kids to do & time for me to socialize with other adults. There were Sister Missionaries who convinced me to let them come over and visit once a week and play games with the kids. Eventually they challenged us all to read the Book of Mormon. I read it & knew it was true immediately. I prayed about it & decided YES I wanted to take the discussions & learn some more about this Church. I was a little worried what my husband might think, because he was a strong atheist! My husband received a Book of Mormon form my mom. He started to read it to prove it was wrong. The Sister Missionaries had me ask him if they could email him and answer any questions he might have. I was surprised when I told him that I wanted to be baptized and he said that was fine. And everything kind of snowballed from there. On the day of my Baptism, which had to be postponed a couple of times, because my husband could not make it in from sea. We finally decided to go through with it, and my husband made it home just in time, then the doors would not unlock. This just proved to me that this was the right decision, otherwise, why would the devil be trying so hard to hinder us. But finally everything worked out. I am so much happier now that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It feel so right & good. I love the Gospel. I love knowing that we have a true living Prophet on the Earth today who loves us & guides us every step of the way. I know this is the true Church and Jesus Christ is the head of it. He is my savior.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by participating actively in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is not just something that I do only on Sundays. This is how I live my life day by day, minute by minute. My calling (what I do in the Church) is a Sunbeam teacher. I serve with my daughter & we teach little 3-4 year old about the Gospel. I love it. I also enjoy visiting with other ladies in my ward and getting to know them. I love living in a community with others who have the same values as me. I dress modestly and love it! I do not drink, nor smoke. I love being part of a family here on Earth. I know that when we return to live with God that my family will be eternal.
