Hi I'm Emma

I grew up in Oregon. I am a BYU student. I have been called to serve in Oklahoma City, speaking Spanish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of six which consists of my parents, two brothers, one sister, and me. I am 19 years old and I am currently attending school at Brigham Young University. I love to read, spend time with my family and friends, and play the piano. I also enjoy hiking and being outdoors, listening to music, watching movies, and playing games.

Why I am a Mormon

This life is so amazing and this world is so beautiful! I think every day what amazing opportunities I have been blessed with. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was born a member of the church, into a wonderful family with parents that have always been an incredible example to me. They taught me to have faith and have showed me what it means to have a strong testimony. I am so grateful to them and everything they have done for me! I choose to believe in this gospel every day of my life. I may not know everything and sometimes there are hard days, but I have made a choice to always believe and I couldn't be happier with that decision. I believe in my Father in Heaven and in Jesus Christ. I know they love me beyond what I can even comprehend. I have felt their love and their guidance throughout my life. I know that Jesus Christ is my personal Savior and the Savior of the world. I know without a doubt that as I rely on Him, I can do hard things and that He will never give up on me. He will always be there for me, just as He is for every single person on this earth. I believe in Him and I have chosen to follow Him.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith is by being a missionary. I have been called to serve in the Oklahoma, Oklahoma City Mission speaking Spanish and I'll be leaving on June 1st of 2016. I am so excited to serve! I have always wanted to be a missionary and I am beyond happy that it is finally my turn to go and share what I love with as many people as are ready to hear me! I have been so blessed to have grown up with the knowledge and peace that this gospel brings me and I cannot imagine not being able to share that with people. I live my faith by always striving to be the best I can be. I am not perfect, but I try to live my life in a way that others can see and feel the love of our Heavenly Father through me and my actions. I am currently in a young single adult ward here at BYU and one of my callings is to be apart of the compassionate service committee. I love being able to serve those around me. Service is such an amazing thing! Not only does it help those that we are serving, but it changes us individually. I know that I feel happier than ever when I take a break from thinking about myself and focus on those around me. I know service helps us to feel closer to our Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ and I am so excited to be able to spend 18 months of my life purely in the service of God!
