Hi I'm Nancy

I am a wife, a mother of two sons and a teacher in Orange County, California. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am wife and mother of two boys. I am a high school teacher. I love to read, especially Jane Austen novels. I enjoy biking, walking and campfires. I LOVE the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young person I prayed sincerely to know if God exists and to find truth. On a day I will always remember I received an undeniable sense of peace and a sweet assurance that God was in charge and aware of me as an individual. It only made sense to me that he had a clear and comprehensible path for me to follow. One with scriptures, prophets, and a church that followed the precepts Christ established when he was here on earth. I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is that church.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by sharing my beliefs with others, as I believe all disciples of Christ have done through out the ages. Living my faith includes believing that whatever comes into my life is an opportunity for me to grow and to become the woman God wants me to become.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Nancy
Being a Latter-day saint means to me that my daily actions, interactions and attitudes are guided by my belief that Jesus Christ is my Savior and example. I really try to treat others as He would. I try to see others as children of God. Knowing of God's love for me and His love for all His children motivates me to be kind, to have integrity and to do hard things; And sometimes day to day life is hard. In the same vein I believe in an after-life and knowing that I will someday be face to face with God and I will be held accountable for how I have used the gifts He has given me guides my day to day choices. Three gifts God has given me are a physical body, time & the freedom to spend my time as I choose & my family relationships. It is my hope that my lifestyle reflects my value for these God given gifts. Choosing to avoid addictive substances, to eat nutritiously, and exercise, choosing to spend my time productively and choosing to extend energy and resources developing relationships with family members are a few of the life choices I make daily in order to honor these gifts that God has given me. I don't always succeed. But understanding God's plan for our lives and Jesus Christ's role in that plan gives me direction and strength of purpose. Show more Show less
