Hi I'm Lori

I grew up in Arizona. I am a wife & mother of 3 daughters. I am a "Let's Play Music" teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in AZ, the youngest of 6 children, & met the love of my life when I attended BYU. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Trevor, for almost 10 years! He and I have 3 daughters who keep us busy! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, teaching music to children, singing, and relaxing at the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who are members of this church. My father was adopted into a family whose grandfather was one of the early saints in Nauvoo, Illinois. My mother converted from Catholicism when she was 18. It has always been the central part of my life and when I became old enough to understand about other religions and beliefs, I questioned why we believe we are the only true church. I prayed for answers. As I have studied other religions, I have found that the LDS church has answers to all the questions like, Who am I? Where did I come from? and Why am I here? It is all centered around Jesus Christ and our relationship with Him. I have felt numerous confirmations in my life that this IS the only true church. I feel good when I am at church learning about and serving Christ. I know I am a child of my Heavenly Father who sent me here to earth for a purpose; to be tested & to repent and come unto Christ. The gospel of Christ is about serving others and doing good and I find tons of that as I meet other members of the Mormon faith.

How I live my faith

I currently serve the children 11 and under in our ward. I help assign prayers, talks and scriptures for the children to give during our sharing time at church. There is 1 hour where the children congregate together in classes and get to sing songs about Jesus & what we believe. We use the scriptures to teach the children about Christ the early prophets, as well as modern-day prophets. We also teach the children about reverence and respect for God and others. I also get the opportunity to teach our younger nursery-age (18mos-3yrs) children music. As a mother of 3 girls, I am constantly teaching them about prayer and making good choices. We live very clean lives. We do not drink alcohol, coffee, or tea. We do not smoke or use drugs. We refrain from foul language, profanity & pornography. We serve others continually and make a conscious effort to do good in the world. We all have the same goal: to return to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus one day. The way we do that, is by the choices we make everyday to do the right thing.
