Hi I'm Christina M!

I grew up in Georgia. I'm a graduate student at Georgia Tech. I do research in Science and Technology Policy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate student studying Public Policy. I enjoy making baby blankets for the local hospital in my spare time. I love biking with my dad on weekends on the nature trails near his house. I am attempting to learn how to cook with the help of my mom. I love going to the Temple with my family and friends. I love to play games (like UNO) with my family and friends. And I love frozen yogurt!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. My Mom and Dad are both converts and actually met in Church. In middle school, a friend asked me about the Church and asked me if she could have a Book of Mormon. I was so excited and got her one and prepared to write my testimony on a page in the front cover. As I sat there I realized I didn't know. I didn't know that the Church was true. I had leaned on my parent's testimonies and the testimonies of others but had yet to gain one for myself. I prayed and asked my Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was the word of God. The Holy Ghost made me feel happy and bore witness that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I knew then that the Church was true. Since then, I have had many experiences that have reinforced that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints contains the fully restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I am Mormon because I love my Savior and it is the true Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by teaching Sunday School! Every Sunday, I teach a class on "Provident Living," where I get to share the Gospel with others and teach about how the Savior would have us live our lives. As an undergraduate student, I was in a Service Sorority, where I had the opportunity to do service projects every Saturday morning with my friends. This helped me learn how to better serve and love others more. I live my faith by trying, to the best of my ability, to follow the teachings of Jesus in my everyday life.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Christina M!
We believe Temples to be the House of the Lord. They are sacred and holy to us. Inside of the Temple, we are able to learn more about and make promises to our Heavenly Father. It is in Temples, that families can be "sealed" or bonded together, for all time and eternity. In the bonds, even death cannot break the family apart, but the family can continue together after death. Temples are a divine expression of love. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Christina M!
Families are the cornerstone of society. We believe that the family is the most important unit of society and should be treasured. We believe that families can be together forever when they are "sealed" in Temples. This means the that bonds and relationships that we make as a family in this life do not end in death, but can continue on in the next life. Show more Show less
