Hi I'm Janice

I grew up in Idaho. No, not on a potato farm, just down the road from one. I am a mom of four. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy baking, especially desserts and breads. I can crochet an afghan provided you don't mind the inconsistent tension in the loops. I used to scrapbook our family photos, now they are all on the computer waiting to be printed. Somehow making the switch to digital did not make it easier for me. I use computers sparingly as they fustrate me at times and yet I am grateful for the ability to keep in touch with family and friends through them. I am shy, yet friendly. I do like to garden, mostly pulling out the weeds. I find satisfaction in uprooting the unwanted plants so that our veggies can grow. I like something about every season of the year. Each has its own beauty and activities that go with it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for so many wonderful reasons. First off, it is how I was raised. I will admit that, and yet I have always had a choice. I choose to remain a Mormon because I believe in the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Not just believe in them but believe them. I love the gospel and the blessings that come in to my life as a result of me following its teachings.

How I live my faith

It is a daily process for me that brings daily blessings. I attend church on Sunday as well as the weekly youth activities that are a part of my calling (or assignment) at this time. I read from the Bible and the Book of Mormon during the week at home both with my family and on my own. As part of my daily prayers I ask Heavenly Father to allow me to serve those around me in ways that they need it most. And then I try to follow those promptings that come through out my day. Sometimes I feel the need to make a phone call or a visit in person to someone or to just smile at those around me as I grocery shop, etc. I give of what I can when I can and I hope that I am contributing in a positive way to my neighborhood and community.

Who are the Mormons?

I am a Mormon! Mormon is a nickname given to us because we believe in The Book Of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. We also believe in the King James version of the Bible. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We are Christians who believe in the teachings of Jesus Christ as found in both the Bible and The Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
