Hi I'm Jaremie Woodruff

I grew up in Canada. I love being a husband and father. I am a business analyst (washed up developer). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and have three children. I work as a Computer Systems Analyst and enjoy finding better ways to build software. Although I am not a great runner, I have participated in triathlons.

Why I am a Mormon

As a descendant of Mormon pioneers, finding The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was not a challenge, but gaining a sure knowledge of its veracity for myself required the same steps as for everyone else: study, prayer and purposeful obedience. My relationship with Jesus Christ has grown since I was a child through simple faith and obedience. It strengthens now as I sacrifice and serve God's children all around me. As a result, I know that God is our Father in Heaven, and that His Son, Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that God calls prophets to lead His people in our day, as He did in ancient days, because He is preparing a people to welcome the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ keep their covenants, and that through the Atonement, my weaknesses and mortal failings can be overcome through faith in Christ. I know that this sweet assurance can be had by any who diligently seek Him.

How I live my faith

The most important way I live my faith is by trying to set a good example of Christian love and patience for my children. If I fail as a father, I will have missed the greatest of life's opportunities. We read the scriptures and pray together as a family most evenings. This is not always as easy as it sounds. I am a counsellor to the bishop (leader) of our ward (congregation). One part of this responsibility is helping to teach the children (ages 3-12) as a group as a "special guest" on a regular basis. This is a true joy, to see the Holy Spirit work in the minds and hearts of these young people as they grasp and practice the teachings of Jesus Christ. In my community, I work with many business leaders in the Information Technology industry to develop their businesses and connect with like minded individuals for economic growth. This effort is part of my belief that work is an important part of God's plan for our growth. Both as a means to the end of self sufficiency, and as an opportunity to demonstrate and feel self worth and independence.
