Hi I'm Effie Naomi Gibbons

I'm Effie, I'm home schooled. I enjoy writing and hope to publish a novel someday, I also bake, and do Taekwondo. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Effie and I'm a new freshman at BYUI. I am currently on a Mission, but will be going back to Collage in 18 months. I'm a brown belt in Taekwondo and though I had to quite due to time crunches, my dream is to remain fit throughout my life, and I know just how hard that can be. I enjoy rock climbing, and a little Zumba. Right now my degree plan is in Rec. Management. I find cooking fun and baking more enjoyable. I love to take my time, and when I start a project and I like to see it to it's end. Before I went out on my mission I wrote 13 chapters of a trilogy I hope to publish someday. I also love to think up stories and dream publishing, which became a goal when I was in sixth grade because a good teacher of mine told me to 'keep writing'. It was the first complement I remember getting from a teacher about a talent, and really truly encouraged me. My preference for writing is fantasy, but I'll write short stories in any genre. I've also enjoyed singing, though I'm not always on key, and drawing when my hands let me. I love literature, and enjoy taking fun little quizzes like personality quizzes, ENFP, and the pottermore quiz, SLYTHERIN PRIDE. Also a Disney fan~ I just love a good story, and could write a whole profile on that alone! My Mom and Dad have been a true blessing in my life. My older siblings aren't as estranged as they were when I was young, and my younger siblings and I are very close. I am very happy with all of them, and love to talk about them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a family who were devoted members of the LDS church. They encouraged be to go to church, read the scriptures, and pray. I did this and I have felt many times that the church is true, I can't dismiss that fact. I became a member at age 8 and just continued to grow with my testimony in the church. I loved my young woman youth group, and seminary (even if it started at 6:00 in the morning). I liked my Single Adults ward too. The bible, the pearl of great price, The D&C, and the book of Mormon have fun stories who's morals and values have made me the young woman I strive to be. The plan of salvation holds such promise and with my Patriarchal Blessing I can see my role in the gathering of Israel. I know that all of us have a reason to be on this earth, we all have a role to play, and we can all go back to Heavenly Father if we do what is right and repent when we make mistakes.

How I live my faith

I love doing service with my young woman youth group, I've helped build a park and plant a tree, I've also helped an older man with his front yard work.
