Hi I'm Mitchell

I'm Mitchell and i'm a mormon

About Me

hey i'm mitchell, i'm the youngest of 5 kids in my family. I love playing sports and being out doors. My favorite sports are football, baseball, skiing and snowboarding. I love to travel and see the different parts of the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon is because this life is hard. We can't get through it without God's help and the help of others. Every single person has trials, hard times, problems, even when it doesn't seem like it, and we all need someone to rely on. From being a mormon, i have felt Jesus Christ carrying me through when i can't go on alone. Jesus Christ suffered and died for us, but he did much more than that. When he suffered, he suffered our pains, afflictions, tempations, and so on. That means anytime you suffer...he suffered it first, so that when you are going through that hard time, you can pray and ask for his help and he will carry your burden. Its an amazing feeling to know that you can recieve peace and forgiveness through Christ, but we have to do our part. Being a mormon has given me higher standards and has helped me recognize when others need my help. Being a mormon is like joining a giant family that will always have your back. There are a lot more reasons why i am a mormon, but you can find out for yourself those reasons, instead of taking my word for it...but i know this church is the true church of Jesus Christ here on this earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an example to those around me. I'm definitly not perfect but i'm trying my best to do good things and help those around me.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Mitchell
We know that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. God, since the beginning of time has called prophets like noah, abraham, and so on. God speaks to these prophets so that we have a direct communication of His teachings. If we didn't have prophets, every church would be like the game telephone, where you whisper in someone's ear and gradually it begins to change. So a prophet is key in having a true church and true communication with our Heavenly Father. After God communicates with prophets, the things He said are so sacred that prophets write it down; it becomes scripture. After the death of Jesus Christ and His apostles, the direct communication with God wasn't on the earth. The revelation and authority to act in God's name were taken off the earth because of the wickedness of the people. The time when revelation and authority aren't on the earth is called an apostasy. If there wasn't an apostasy, why did the bible stop being written? If that revelation was still on the earth, we would have had more books in the bible. So it is logical that during that time, without revelation, the church began to change because people can translate the same verse in the bible several different ways, which causes them to start their own church. So God, being the same always, had to reach out and restore His original church once again and give us that authority and revelation. He reached out in love and gave us a prophet again so we don't have to be confused on his teachings. Show more Show less
