Hi I'm Megann

I am going on a mission to Indianapolis!!! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from an athletic family and we love to play sports together. I love to play basketball, soccer, and just recently I've picked up racquetball--which I really enjoy. I have also tried new things like contemporary, jazz, and country dance. And I have found that I absolutely love it! I am majoring in Elementary Education and I can't wait to start teaching. Everything that I've learned so far has made me really excited to teach and make a difference in children's lives. Teaching is the most rewarding occupation, and I love it.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Why am I not part of another church, why do I care to be a Mormon...It's because it is the ONLY true church on the earth. It is Jesus Christ's church. Many other churches throughout the world have bits and pieces of the gospel of Jesus Christ, but being a Mormon I am part of a church that has ALL of the TRUTH. I have read the Book of Mormon multiple times and have prayed to know if it is true. Every time I feel that it is true. I have prayed and fasted to know if the Prophet Thomas S. Monson is God's true Prophet, and I have received the answer that he is. I know that as I read the Book of Mormon, and listen to the Prophet's voice and the apostles I will stay safe from the evil ways of Satan, and be eternally happy. Another reason I am Mormon, is that part of all of the truth that is restored comes the Priesthood (power of God) and the Temples. In the temples we are able to be sealed as families forever by the Priesthood, and I know that this is how God wants us to be married. My ultimate goal is to be married in the temple, and to have all my children married there as well so that we can live with each other and God FOREVER. The Temple is a sacred and beautiful place.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best daughter, sister, friend, and missionary I can. I do this by setting goals, refining myself, and taking a step back to see how I can change every day. In my ward I have been given the responsibility to put together service activities that people in my church can participate in. These allow us to help other people, and unify the people in my church. I am also a visiting teacher specifically to two women in my ward. I visit them, care for them, and teach them. As I serve and fulfill my callings/responsibilities I am brought closer to God, and I am able to accomplish and overcome anything that God has asked me to do. Recently I have been called to serve in the Indiana Indianapolis mission, and I am so excited! I have been preparing for a really long time, and am still preparing to be the best missionary I can be. I love the Lord, and I show him my love by teaching others about Christ, and bringing them into His gospel.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

To know if the Mormon church is true, you need to have a sincere desire to know and then ask Heavenly Father in prayer. There is so much wickedness and distraction in the world, that it is hard to be able to determine answers from the Holy Ghost. But I promise that if you act on what you feel is right by living the gospel, and believing that you will get an answer, the Holy Ghost will give you a feeling or thought that what you are doing is correct. I have gone through this process over and over again with questions that I have asked Heavenly Father, and time and time again I am able to act and find the answer. God is in the details of our lives, and would give anything to help us get back home to Him. He will answer our prayers. Show more Show less
