Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a avid Breakdancer, Runner/Skier, and violinist. And a Mormon, of course!

About Me

I enjoy pretty much any sport, although I feel I get the most enjoyment in a non-church activity through dancing and adrenaline. I started breaking in 8th grade, and have persevered through (a lot of) blood, (more) sweat, (thankfully few) tears. Music and rhythm are my thing. I would love to become a Pro Breakdancer, but I know there are better things for me (It would be hard to raise a family)! I'll be serving a full time mission in Singapore & Malaysia, and then attending Brigham Young University. I don't yet know what direction I'll head in my life, but it will be where the Lord needs me! Go Cards!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born Mormon. I know the Church is true. That God Lives. That he sent his only begotten son to die for us. Many have said: "You have not known any other, so you cannot know better" They have also said: "You cannot truly know. No one can know" Well, I am Mormon not because it has been told to me by any man. I have lived in, on, and unfortunately at one point outside the boundaries of Mormonism. I know, without a doubt, that this is the only way to find lasting joy. I have learned from watching others (and often from experience) that living the way of the world is less than a shadow of what is in offered to everyone. Living my testimony has given so much back to me. I would not be the person that I am without the church and God. Every good thing I have has come from being Mormon. Knowing does not come from a single moment, but from line upon line, precept upon precept. I am Mormon not because It has been told to me by any man. I am a Mormon because it has been told to me by my God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by exactly that-living it. Becoming it. Being Mormon is about improving onself-every day takeing steps to change the person you are into someonw more worthy to return to our God. I try to persevere at all times, striving for Christlike perfection knowing in full that I am humanly incapable of getting where I want to be without my Lord. Anyway, things I do include refusing to take a part in (break) dance competitions that have a spirit contrary to the Holy Ghost, and unfortunately that's mostly all of them. Regardless, "Neglect not the gift that is in thee" 1 (Timothy 4:14). So do what you are here to do, and everything else will fall into place. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you" (Nephi 3:13). I have had, at many times, a confusing a disorienting life, but know that everything that happens happens because we would want it to if we understood. And so, rising from my weaknesses and many mistakes, I will continue and strive to bring and show the light of Christ to all those around me, knowing that as a man I am nothing compared to my challenges.
