Hi I'm Kelsey.

I run marathons. I sign language interpret. I'm a Mormon. :)

About Me

I am a student at BYU Idaho studying Exercise Physiology and plan to become a personal trainer. I also plan to major in American Sign language so that I can become a full or part time interpreter. I am a cheerleader for BYU Idaho. I go to the temple once a week to do baptisms for the dead. I have two adopted sisters and one biological brother. In my spare time I like to run marathons.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be born into and grow up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I continue to follow His gospel because of how much it has completely blessed my life. So many times in my life I could have walked away, but I chose to stay, because the blessings outweigh anything anybody could ever do or say to me. I have grown up being reminded to look at the Eternal perspective of my life. Eternally- is it worth it? I remember once in young women's when I was about 14 we had a lesson on the atonement. My leader showed us a video of the atonement. She then told us that Christ bled from every pore and for every sin and sorrow we have ever had and will ever have. She then posed the question: "How many drops of blood did Christ have to shed for me?" Ever since, my life has been different. Every time I question a situation I am in, this pops into my head. Would Christ have to shed more drops of blood if I did this? This lesson changed my life and my outlook on life. I have a testimony of this gospel so strongly. I believe in Christ, I believe in the atonement and I believe in Joseph Smith. I have a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon. I am currently reading it for the second time on my own. The difference is though, this time I am truly taking my time and studying it. I have learned and gained so much more insight and knowledge. I know the Lord has blessed me with this Church in my life and I am so grateful for it. I would be such a different person without it.

How I live my faith

Currently, I don't have a calling. Although, I am a visiting teacher. It is so important for me to get my visiting teaching done and get it done early in the month. By the end of the month everyone is busy and thinking of other things. I believe that it will be better to get it done in the beginning of the month because the direct lesson you teach can influence those you teach throughout the month. They can look to it for guidance and suggestion. It is also a nice reminder that your visiting teacher takes the time to plan out her visit and doesn't just rush through it because she has to get it done before the end of the month.
