Hi I'm Gordon

I live in Montana, I love the outdoors and I am a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Utah and attended college at the University of Utah.  I am a huge Utah Utes fan.  I now live in Montana and love to hunt, fish, camp and be outside.  I have a beautiful and wonderful wife and 4 wonderful children.  I enjoy coaching little league sports and have done so for many years.  I am a CPA and now work as a Lean Six Sigma black belt at a large health-care facility.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church.  I consider my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as one of my greatest blessing.  The gospel of Jesus Christ gives meaning to my life and when I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ I am happy.  The gospel of Jesus Christ has taught me that I am a son of a God and that God loves me very much and that he wants me to be happy.  The gospel helps me to know where I came from, why I am here on the earth and what will happen when I leave this earth.  It allows me the opportunity through the blessings of the priesthood and the temple to be with my wife and my family forever.  It gives me great comfort to know that no matter what may happen in this life, if I continue to faithfully follow the commandments of our Heavenly Father, I can remain with my wife forever and be with my family after this life.  I believe that being a member of the church and faithfully following the gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to be a better husband, father and member of my community.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by following the teachings of Jesus Christ by trying to be honest, serving and helping others, by working hard, and being a good neighbor.   Through my service in the church I have had the opportunity to serve in numerous assignments from being a teacher, to working with youth groups, to being a scoutmaster in the Boy Scouts of America organization to serving in  leadership opportunities that help with the administration of the church.  Serving in the church gives me a sense of belonging.  It gives me a social network of friends that have similar values to me and helps me know that there are others in addition to my family that love me and are always willing to help me or my family when in need.  I live my faith by being part of that network and being willing to help others when they need my help.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Gordon
Knowing that there is a prophet here on the earth today is one of the greatest blessings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It makes sense that today just like in the days of the old testament and when Christ was here on the earth that any time Christ's church has been on the earth he has chosen a prophet that he can communicate with to tell his children here on earth what he wants them to be doing. We are no different than God's children who lived on the earth during the time of Moses, Abraham, or Noah. They needed a prophet to help lead and guide them through life just as we do today. The world is different than it was when Moses and Noah were alive and we need someone who can help us know what things we should be aware of today so that we can be happy and safe and the prophet of God on the earth today is that person.
