Hi I'm Samuel

I was born in raised in a small Wyoming town. I like to mountain bike. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to mountain bike, camp, hike, and play ultimate frisbee. I am 27 years old. I served a full-time mission for the church. I served in the Georgia Atlanta Mission. I'm from Wyoming originally. I grew up in a small farming and ranching community of about 4,000 people. The Mormon population is very small. About 100 members attend church regularly. In high school, there were only 3 to 6 kids that were LDS. Being a minority is hard but after high school that made me a stronger person.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it is true. I was raised in the church. I got baptized at 8 years old. Although I was raised in the church, I still had to find out my self if the things or church teaches were true. In high school and the first part of college I doubted the belifs of the church that I was taught since I was a child. Slowly but surely I gained a testimony. I would hear something said in church or read something in the scriptures and the Holy Ghost would testify to me that what was said was true. There was just one thing that I had trouble with. That was knowing that Jesus Christ was a real person and if he did do all the things the Bible said He did. For the longest time Jesus was just someone I read about in a book. Then during an activity the college had for Mormon students, we did an activity that was fun. Then afterword we had a testimony meeting and a picture of Jesus was on the wall and I was just looking at it and listening to the testimonies and the Holy Ghost just came to me so strong. I knew then that Jesus Christ really lived and that He did all the things he said he did and that He died for my sins. I know the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. He suffered for our sins and died. He rose again 3 days later and He still lives today. Heavenly Father lives and guides us. Joseph Smilth was a prophet called by God and restored the church in the latter-days. The Book of Mormon is the word of God as well as the Holy Bible.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by serving a misson for the Lord. Before I served a misson I lived my faith by going to church on Sundays, attending the local Instiute of Religion (which is run by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints), and being an example to those around me. I live the beliefs of my church.
