Hi I'm Jacob

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. I love my family, I love the Lord, and I love me some freeze-pops! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a regular guy, and if you asked me, i probably couldn't tell you a whole lot of amazing stuff about me. Which is probably why i can't really think of much to say right now. So here's a potpourri of random things about me that I'll probably come back and edit again after realizing how lame it is. Well, I like using unique words, and saying things like, "swell" "spiffy" "smashing" or "peachy" that no one really says anymore. I am currently trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life, and the hard part is that i'm interested in so many different offhand things that i cant seem to just stick with one. I love Las Vegas. Yes, people live in Vegas, and no, I don't live in a hotel. It's where I've lived all my life, and I can't think of any place I'd rather be. The lights, the fame, the scortching heat during the day and the freezing tempatures at night are all part of home. I call myself a city guy, but camping, especally in the mountains near where i live, is something that I really enjoy. Vegas really isn't like anywhere else, and living in it has taught me unique things, and gifted me with a sarcastic humor, that I use every day. In fact, I might use it a little too much.

Why I am a Mormon

Every day, the line of what's right and wrong is placed in front of me, and i make my choice. And every day, I choose to do different of what the 2 1/2 million other residents of Las Vegas have chosen to be the norm. I do not drink, I do not gamble. After all, casinos aren't built off winners. Yeah, life could possibly be easier on the other path, but i know the one i have chosen will be well worth it. I know every principal of the Restored Gospel is true, and that Christ has given everything for me. I have seen the evidence of the Atonement and Forgiveness in my life, and after knowing it, I cannot turn away from it.

How I live my faith

Currently, I am Living my faith by serving a 2 year mission in the great city of Atlanta Georgia, where I will invite all within my power to come unto Christ, and his restored gospel in these Latter Days.

Who was Joseph Smith?

You know who Moses is right? Abraham? How bout Elijah, Samuel, and Adam? alright, cool, well what is something that all of these men share? that's right, they all had a direct communication with God. they were each chosen by God to be a prophet, and to be a way to connect His will with the people world. their job was to be a witness of Him, and to do their best to bring His children more in harmony with his teachings. through revelation directly from God, prophets were able to know the way back to him, and were able to share it with the rest of the world. this is the way that God has always worked. throughout the Bible, we see that God loves his children enough to always provide this link to him, if his children are but willing to listen. Simply put, Joseph Smith Jr. was another one of these prophets. he was called in these last days to be the mouthpiece of God and to usher in the fulness of the Lord's gospel. anyone who truely believes in the Bible, must agree on the nesessity of God's revelation to men through prophets. this nesessity has not been revoked. God does not change, and he has not abandoned us. he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He is still speaking to us in the same way he has done since the beginning of time. most Christian religions teach that God used to walk and talk with man. The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints teaches that he still does. and that is a comforting thought. Show more Show less
