Hi I'm Travis

I am a basketball playing maniac, a music lover. And I am a Mormon

About Me

I just graduated High School and I am now serving a mission for this church. I grew up in a family of 6 and i have loved every second of it. Its been amazing making tons of fun memories with my parents and siblings. And of course I love my family very much. I am huge into basketball and love everything about sports. No matter what time of the year, there is always a sport that I am following. There is nothing better in this world then getting some buddies together and playing some basketball and just having fun. I love singing and playing my guitar and also trying any other instrument I can get my hands on. I may not be very good at the instruments, but isn't it cool telling people that you have jammed out on a harp?

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of how i feel when I am following Jesus Christ. And the true joy that comes from following his teachings and the counsel of our church leaders today. And of course when everyone grows up, people get hit by those hard teenage years. And i was no exception. A couple of years ago, i had what seemed like weights that were holding me down and kept me from moving on in life. But because of the love that comes with this faith, and from my family, and the reassurance that i have a loving Heavenly Father. I came out strong and broke those bands that were holding me back and keeping me from progressing and becoming a better person. And there is no better feeling in this world then getting those bands cut! And that's why I am here. The church never gives up on anyone just as the Savior did. I always felt the comfort in knowing that I could move forward and one day get rid of the things of my past. Knowing that Jesus Christ, when he was here on the earth, descended below all things. He overcame all things and I felt his strength to do the same with the obstacles in my life. I also absolutely love my family and i am so very grateful for the help that comes from the church and its teachings towards strengthening my family and the love we have for one another. I know with out a doubt my family has continually come closer because of this faith! It is what unites us. And gives us the courage to continue to improve so that we can be together after this life on earth.

How I live my faith

Right now I am a Full Time Missionary for our church In Vancouver, British Columbia. As a missionary, I teach about this church and what its message is, and how it can change our lives for the better. But the biggest way that I live my faith is through doing good things and trying to make others days better and brighter. When Jesus Christ was on the earth, he helped as many people as he could and tried to make their burdens lighter. And for me, I want to treat people like Christ treated all the people he met. And trying everyday to help people as if he were right there in the moment helping out.
