Hi I'm Ben

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of two and a husband of four years. My wife and I graduated from college in 2010--her with a degree in vocal performance and me with a degree in Business Management-Finance. Upon graduation, I began employment as the chief financial officer for a group of podiatry offices. My wife and I met during our youth though we never dated. I took a 2-year break from my education to serve as an LDS missionary in Cordoba, Argentina. Upon returning, I crossed paths once again with my wife, asked her out, and we began to date. After marriage, we were blessed with a beautiful little girl and recently a baby boy. My favorite hobbies are rock climbing, shooting, wood-working, and anything that involves family .

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My parents are and were devoted to teaching their children about our Savior, Jesus Christ. From an early age, I felt the witness of the Holy Ghost confirm to me the truth of their words. As I began to mature as a youth, I naturally became more aware that many of my beliefs were discredited by society due to my lifetime membership in the church. I was occasionally criticized by those who thought I only lived the LDS faith because it was all I had ever known. I have always enjoyed discussing religion with people of all faiths. During these conversations, the theme of "truth" would often emerge. I believe truth to be knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come. I learned that many people's notion of truth was that reality conformed to their beliefs. I concluded that if there was "One Lord, one faith, and one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5), and one gospel (Galatians 1:8) and one truth (John 8:31-32), the pursuit of life should be to seek out truth and live accordingly. The scriptures are replete with promises that those who seek out truth will find it (consider John 7:17, Matthew 7:7, and Moroni 10:3-5). I am a Mormon because I have sought truth and the Holy Ghost has confirmed to me the truthfulness of what I have found. I have come to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Kingdom of God on the earth, restored through a modern-day prophet as prophesied anciently. I have come to know that Christ came to earth and paid the price for the sins of men. I know that because of Him, we can be redeemed from death and sin, allowing us to return to the Father. Furthermore, I know that any earnest seeker of truth can come to know these things through the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures daily and trying to model my life after the Savior's. I live my faith by seeking God's will through frequent prayer. I live it by serving those around me, alleviating burdens and helping to share the good news of the gospel. Most importantly, I live my faith at home as my family and I grow closer together and aid each other on our path back to our Heavenly Father.
