Hi I'm Carl

I'm happily married with 5 kids, and I love going to the beach with my family, I enjoy sports, I'm an accountant and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Auckland, New Zealand but I moved to sunny Brisbane, Queensland in 1987 with my mum, dad, two brothers and sister. I love it here in Australia, I've lived most of my life here and during this time I've been blessed to meet my beautiful wife and we both feel grateful that we can raise our young family here also. Our favorite family activity has to be going to the beach, we all love bodyboarding, making sandcastles, flying kites and walking along the beach. We also love going on bike rides, going for walks and going to Sizzlers - the last one isn't really a hobby/interest but we think it's fun. I love all kinds of sports and avidly support our Brisbane Rugby Union, Rugby League and Soccer teams - and yes that includes supporting the Wallabies. I enjoy playing basketball and according to my wife, enjoy being schooled by her playing tennis. I'm an accountant which means I'm suppose to be a boring nerd, so as you can see I make sure I balance this stereotypical cliche with an active family life. But seriously accountants (like Mormon's) are pretty cool, we just have to convince 99.79% of the world population to believe that we are.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in the church by my parents and they have always taught gospel values within our family. I knew the things they taught me were valuable because they helped me to make good choices, actually life changing choices. I know for a fact that I would not be where I am today without gospel teachings that guided my parents and our family. However, it wasn't enough for me to just rely solely on what my parents believed to be true, I too had to find out for myself that the church and its teachings were true. I can honestly say that I have received my answer and as a result I believe I have been pretty blessed in my life, not necessarily with material things, but more so with the quality of life that I have today with my wife and family, where I can truly say that I am happy.

How I live my faith

I'm currently a youth leader within the church and help the local youth group to organise and run fun activities as well as meaningful community based service projects. I also strive to live my life in such a way that my actions are a reflection of my beliefs and values.
