Hi I'm Travis

I call Colorado home. I am a husband, father, Engineer, Webelos scout leader, and Tea Part / 9.12 activist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I met my wife while attending college. We were married right before Christmas, and had our first son shortly after her graduation and right before mine. I was serving in the Utah Army National Guard at the time. Shortly after the birth of our second son, while working on a masters in computer science, i was deployed to Iraq. Our third son was born shortly after my return and a medical discharge followed. We moved to CA for work were I worked as an Engineer in the aerospace industry. After the birth of a baby girl, we moved to CO for a less expensive life style. Here we welcomed another son. It was here that I felt a desire to serve again, but having been medically discharged, i was undesired of the armed forces. I instead put my energy into the formation of a local Tea Party and focused on trying to help educate my neighbors on the blessing of the Constitution and the troubles facing our beloved country. My wife and I are now eagerly awaiting the birth of our 6th child, a baby girl.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a 6th generation member of the Church. My great-great-great grandfather came across the plains with Brigham Young. Growing up in the Church, there was never a doubt of its truthfulness. However, it wasn't until basic training that I truly began to learn for myself, as I really began to study the Book of Mormon, in preparation for a mission. It was shortly thereafter, while attending the missionary training center, and while praying for my own defining moment of understanding, that I received the confirmation I sought. It came in the form of an Ensign article, but the gist of the message was that I had already received my confirmation, I already knew the Church and the Book of Mormon were true. I had been receiving that confirmation my entire life threw the witness of the Spirit. I thank my father in heaven for the continued confirmation I receive that helps to strengthen me and increases my testimony. I know this is His Church. I bare this witness in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good husband to my wife, a good father to my children, a good worker at my job, a good member of His Church, and a good steward of the freedoms He has given us in this great country. I strive read the scriptures and pray often with my family, to teach my children threw example, to honor their mother, and take my wife to the temple as often as we can. I also serve as a Webelos den leader in the cub scouting program, an occasional teacher at church, and once a month I get to help with the smaller kids 18 months - 3 years.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

Travis
When it came time for Christ to be baptized, he did not go to just any one, he went to John the Baptist. Why? Because Christ knew John had the proper authority to perform the ordnance. Later Christ taught, one faith, one Baptism. Show more Show less
