Hi I'm Tyli

I am a full time college student. Happily married, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am a full time college student studying Dental Hygiene, and it is keeping me tremendously busy! Recently I got married to a wonderful man, and we are loving spending every minute possible with one another. If I have a spare weekend when my head is not in a book studying you would probably find me hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing/snowboarding and camping (pretty much anything outdoors). I also enjoy running with my dogs (unfortunately they are not here at college with me), swing dancing, baking, decorating cakes, and anything that my husband is up to. I am a certified lifeguard and love teaching little kids how to swim (bob their heads underwater)!

Why I am a Mormon

After growing up around many Mormons I never really had given it a thought. No one had ever bothered telling me more about the church, so I just let my superstitions about the church remain as they were. After I had my first year in college away from my family I decided it didn't matter what my family thought about different churches, I had to figure out on my own what i believed! I began researching several different churches, and just kept being lead back to the LDS church at the time I was attending a Baptist church. My boyfriend gave me a Book of Mormon and ask me to start reading it. I reluctantly did, and after many missionary sessions and praying intently I finally had this overwhelming feeling of joy. It was like a brick was hit me I felt peace, excitement, joy, happiness, and so many other wonderful emotions all at once. At that moment I knew the church was true, I was baptized shortly after, and I haven't looked back since! My testimony of the church has grown so much in watching all of the good examples I have around me as well as my own personal scripture/prayer time. I am so blessed to be a part of this church, and I cannot wait to see what my Heavenly father has in store for my life here on earth.

How I live my faith

I have found that if I miss even just one Sunday my week seems very "off", So I make it a huge priority to attend church every Sunday. It is just a good reminder for me to keep my life on track. Making scripture study and prayer both a daily routine also helps. I am the Home Evening coordinator which is sort of what other churches might call a "youth group" we meet once a week our little branch and have a short lesson, play games, and have treats. I also have found that having a constant priority on Institute (group bible study) has helped me be eager to read my scriptures and grow even more. With all of the activities I participate in and do they help me stay focused on the real priorities in life.
