Hi I'm Laurie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, My home is situated in the middle of 5000 pine trees that my husband I planted, we are also surrounded by hundreds of other types of trees, we enjoy nature and being outside very much. I have lived in the South my entire life and in Florida for 48 years I love the climate here. I enjoy staying busy with grandkids, work, church and community activities. I enjoy reading, especially mysteries and self-improvement books.

Why I am a Mormon

The easy answer to this is my parents are Mormon and I was raised Mormon. But, that does not mean that I always believed, understood or accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I think everyone goes through a period in their life where they have to find answers on their own without relying solely on what they have been told or read. I sure went through times like this. But, by making a personal commitment to study my scriptures and follow the teachings that are in the scriptures and within the church, I learned without a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and is guided by a Prophet of the Lord. I am a Mormon because I know without any doubt that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and his teachings and that it answers questions and provides precious knowledge that guides our lives. I am a Mormon, because it brings me peace and happiness and because I cannot imagine being anything else.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by planning, preparing and participating in many activities for youth ages 12-18, some of these activities are camping, dancing, and service activities. I also teach lessons on Sunday if needed, and help to clean our church building. I also attend the Temple often to do family history work for my ancestors. But the best way that I can think of to live my faith is by following this admonition from Paul in Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."
