Hi I'm Ethan

I want to be your friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 21 years old and from Wilmington, North Carolina. I love Mexico! Especially Oaxaca. I also like adventures, the beach, and Rock N' Roll. I believe that beaches are some of God's most beautiful creations! I play the bass and drums and have played various types of music. I'll always be a rock star at heart. A few years ago I cut off my long hair, shaved my beard, and went off to study at BYU in Utah. I made the decision to serve a two year mission for the church just got back in Febuary 2012 from Oaxaca, Mexico. I love teaching people about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I love the people of Oaxaca. They are so humble and are perfect examples of the love that the Savior taught us. I didn't want to leave, but the time came for me to move on to other things. In april I return to school at BYU where I am studying English. I plan on teaching highschool.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it gives me direction in life and lets me know my purpose for being here. I'd say that one of the most argued concepts in the world is the purpose of our life here on the earth. However, life just makes a lot of since to me thanks to this church. That's not to say that we have all of the answers to everything; we know that there are many mysterys of God that will be revealed after this life. But our church teaches clearly where we come from, why we're here, and were we are going. I'm grateful to know that Heavenly Father has a plan for me.

How I live my faith

I've always tried to be an example. Where I went to high school, there were very few members. Although I'm not perfect, I always tried to be a good example and many people took note and respected the fact that I didn't drink or do drugs or many of the other things that ''normal'' teenagers do. I tried to never seem like I thought I was better than anyone else. I simply kept my standards and many people admired me for it. I've always been active in the church and have had the oportunity to serve various callings as a teacher. My favorite was when I was asked to serve as a teacher for the youth of the ward.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Our church teaches that having a family plays an important part in God's plan of happiness. The prophets have taught us that marriage between a man and a women is ordained of God. We do not in any way endorse or support homosexuality. However, we are also taught to love and respect all people as sons and daughters of God...our brothers and sisters. Hence, we also do not tolerate any form of discrimination towards those who participate in homosexual relationships or towards any other person. Show more Show less
