Hi I'm Erica

I am married to a wonderful man from Mexico and we have four daughters ages 1 to 9. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Born in Ogden, Utah. Raised in Albuquerque! I went to the University of New Mexico. Then I served a mission for my Church in Buenos Aires, Argentina! I loved that and my faith was fortified. I eventually graduated with a degree from Brigham Young University with a degree in Spanish and some education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Little did I know how much that would come in handy in my future. Fell in LOVE with and married a good-looking and good man from Mexico who was studying English in a nearby college. We now have 4 beautiful girls that we are raising together and striving to teach them traditions and language from Mexico as well as the US. Most of all I want to teach them to pray to their Father in Heaven, and to come to know that He is there and that He loves them. I want them to learn to seek to do His will. I know that they will then be happy!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon...but that's not necessarily why I am Mormon. As a teenager I went through a time of not knowing what I believed and how I would live my life. I began a time of deep introspection. Did I like who I was? No. Did I like how I felt? No. Was I living how I felt that God wanted me to? No! So I began to study and pray and repent like never before. I found new life through my Savior Jesus Christ. The change in me was almost tangible and definitely noticeable. I studied the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true. I came to know by the power of the Holy Ghost that it is true; I felt great peace. I came to feel God's hand in my life and I rejoiced. I also began to study the Bible and the words of the prophets. My life has been one of peace since then. As I go through trial and problems I still turn to my Father in Heaven and He grants me peace and a knowledge of His love.

How I live my faith

I attend Church weekly. There I partake of the sacrament and I remember the sacrifice that my Savior Jesus Christ made for me. When I humble myself I recognize the things I need to do better, the things I need to change. I plead for Heavenly Father's help. I pray for forgiveness and for the enabling power of the Atonement to help me to live better! Then I go forward the following week with faith in Christ. I try to remember him and to better pattern my life after His. I pray daily and strive to study God's word in the scriptures and in the words of modern-day prophets. I work to apply the teachings to my life and to teach them to my children. I am FAR from perfect. But I have faith and hope through Jesus Christ that I CAN be better!
