Hi I'm Amy

I am a wife, mother, a costume/fashion designer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to the love of my life for almost 20 years. We met in college and were married six months later. We have four beautiful children. We have been richly blessed. I graduated in Costume and Fashion design and have only worked from home. My oldest child was born about 4 months before I graduated from college. I have always been a stay at home mom and I wouldn't have done it any other way. Most of my time is spent being a wife and mother. I am very involved in my church responsibilities and I love teenagers. It's a good thing since I have three of them right now. In my free time I love to be creative. I love sewing, decorating, and small home improvement projects. My kids call me the project girl. I could spend hours pouring through pictures of beautiful spaces. I also love people. I have been so blessed to be a part of a large family growing up. I am the sixth of nine children. I have lots of nieces and nephews and I like to tease them that I am their favorite aunt. I like to be happy and my favorite nickname is Smiles :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that has rich pioneer heritage in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I remember as a small child going to church and knowing that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was true. I knew then that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ were real. As I have grown older I have seen so many small and large miracles happen in my life that I have no doubt that our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ are real. I have felt the whisperings of the Holy Ghost frequently in my life. I have been blessed so greatly as I have listened to that still small voice. When I have ignored those same promptings I have regretted it. I remember as a small child that my aunt told me the story of Joseph Smith. He didn't know which church was true and he read in the bible James 1:5 and then went to the woods to pray. There he saw God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I knew as she told that story that it was absolutely true. Since then I have tried to live a Christlike life. Of course I am nowhere near perfect but I love my Savior so much and I am so grateful for all that I have. The reason I am a Mormon is that it truly makes me HAPPY! When I live as I should that's when I am the most happy. It gives me purpose and direction in my life. I cannot thank my Heavenly Father enough for all that he has given me in my life!

How I live my faith

Everyday I try to live as I should. I love to pray. I rely so much on prayer. When I get casual in my prayers I don't feel as close to my Heavenly Father. I love to read the scriptures. I have learned so much about Jesus Christ and the Plan of Salvation as I read both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I love to serve my family and others. I am so blessed to be able to teach and plan weekly activities with the teenage girls at church. I love their excitement for life. I try to follow the teachings of the Prophet and apostles and I am happy when I do. Even when I am going through a tough trial in my life, I have always felt peace as I have turned to my Heavenly Father and trusted in him. You can still be happy even when life is hard.
