Hi I'm Donna Jean Burnham

I'm a Mormon. Burnham is my married name, and my maiden name is Rollins. I was born in Wheeling, W.V. until the age of 7.

About Me

I love to write stories but not to be publish to the public. I love horses [cannot ride them], unicorns and pegasuses. I love to read; exsamples: insirational books, Star Trek and Star Wars,The Hardy Boys, and The Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys Supermysteries. I had a 34 1/2 year old daughter[from my first marriage]. I had gradulated in 1976. I only gone 1/2 year in 1978. I had finally gotten myself and my brother; who had died at the age of 2, sealed to our parents. My most favorite book to read is by the president of the Church. I, too, love listen to the Tabernacle Choir and to Hilary Weeks music.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon because I had felt the prompting of the spirit to join. I had wanted to be baptized so that I could have a remissioned of my sins forgiven through the atoning power of our Lord, Jesus Christ. I wanted to learn more of the gospel day by day. I had also prayed to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was a true Church to be a part of. I felt really comfortable being at the Revere 2nd Ward, then I was at the Lynnfield Ward. It was at the Lynnfield Ward when I had became inactive. I didn't feel like part of the family. In both the gospel principle and relief society classes they wouldn't call upon me when I did have something to contribute, so I left about 1991. At the Revere 2nd Ward I became active again in 2009 about a month after my 2nd husband's death, and I've been active ever since. I truly do feel as part of the LDS family now. I know that Joseph Smith was the prophet who had his first vision, and that he had restored the true church of Jesus Christ. I can testify the President Thomas Spencer Monson is our living prophet today. I, also, testify that the Book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ, to which does connect with the King James version the Old & New Testaments. I love our Heavenly Father, and His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and I also believe in the Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit. I Testify that all that I say is true through my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I try to be kind to everyone around me. I try to follow the teachings of our Lord by loving one another as He had loved us. I try to obey the commandments, follow the words of wisdom. I do my visiting teaching either by mail or by email. When I am ask to do temple service I would freely and happily do so. I had two callings and they are: setting the room before we have our class which I do before sacrament meeting, and my second calling is on the compassionate service board. On 10 Dec 2011 we arer having a Christmas Party and I shall be bringing some rolls for the party. I may not do much but I do pray daily for those that are in need of my prayers. I participate in both classes by being able to tell what I believe the lesson means to me. I love this church of Jesus. I do all that I could to do that is righteous in the eyes of God. I pray that I will be able to live with them and my family in the Celestial Kingdom. I pray through Jesus Christ. Amen.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Donna Jean Burnham
Yes, we believe that the Holy Bible is regarded as Holy Scripture and the word of God. Every time I read the Book of Mormon the footnotes would also have us refer to the Ole or New Testaments. In 3Nephi 27:29 Jesus had said "Therefore, ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; for he that asketh, receiveth; and unto him that knocketh, it shall be opened," and if you would cross-reference this verse you would also find it in the New Testament; Matthew 7:7-8--"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: "For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." If we study, pray and ponder the Holy Scripture we can find that the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine & Covernants and the Pearl of Great Price are true. I see it, too, that the Bible is rich in history, doctrine, stories, sermons and testimonies, all of which witness that Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of our Heavenly Father. When I read and study the Holy Scripture I find them powerful, important lessons to which I can learn from day to day, and sacred holy records so I can learn about the ancient families of our olden generations. I love the Holy Bible, because it had taught me to rever doing my family tree sacred. I testify that the Holy Scripture are true through Jesus Christ. Amen. Show more Show less
