Hi I'm Jack Beals

I'm a budgeting analyst, retired, backpacker, married with 5 adult children, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired and a Grandpa who loves to work outdoors and backpack. I love to be with my family. I have a masters degree in statistics and worked 35 years for AT&T performing corporate financial and budget reporting responsibilities. My wife and I have 5 children that range in age from 42 down to 30. We only have two grandchildren at this point. I love to give voluntary service at church and in Boy Scouts. I have sailed over 1,000 miles from Annapolis, MD, to Savannah, GA, with our son.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents and ancestors have been long-time members of the LDS faith. However, I had to come to a point of having my own personal belief that, first, there exists a Supreme Being, and, second, that he really is kind and loving. Next, I had to decide if there was a purpose for my life on this earth, and that He has a plan that could explain the good and evil that exists in the world. After much prayer, as an older teenager, I came to the point where I felt that God did exist and that he is loving. I felt the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints answered my questions of my purpose and why there is both good and evil in the world. It helped me believe that God and Jesus Christ have a plan to make all injustices in the world, eventually, to be corrected. It helped me understand the importance of families existing for eternities.

How I live my faith

As a young single man, I served a two year church mission in Central America. I am faithful to my wife and children. My wife and have served a church mission in Peru for two years and loved the people and the service we rendered.
