Hi I'm Hiram

I love life and helping others. I'm an occupational therapist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

In my opinion life is a gift and I love that I get to experience it in different ways each day. I have a wonderful wife and two beautiful children. I am currently a student studying occupational therapy and hope to work in a rehabilitation hospital when I graduate. I find much joy and satisfaction in life when I am helping others to succeed in life by helping them become more independent. I love being active and healthy. My family and I spend a fair amount of time outdoors playing and exploring. We love going for walks in the woods, riding bikes down the road, and taking the row boat out on the lake. It is important for me to teach my children an appreciation and love for nature and the creations of God.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints. I learned from a very young age the feelings that the Holy Ghost could bring into my life when I was choosing the right. When I was 16 my parents divorced and I was devastated. At the time, I had already been struggling to determine what I believed about God and Jesus Christ. I felt that everything my parents had taught me about God wasn't true and couldn't be true if he would let something like divorce ruin my family. I turned away from my family and away from God. I stopped attending church regularly and even became a little bitter towards the church. When I turned 18 I moved away to attend college. I felt alone without my parents and really began to search for God again. I began a study of the scriptures and recommitted to being prayerful and seeking direction from above. Slowly and almost imperceptive I was changed. I felt the influence of the Holy Ghost guiding me and leading me closer to God. I came to know in a very powerful way that God is real, Jesus is the Christ, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's church on earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by finding joy in all that I do. I strive to glorify God by being happy and lifting others. There are so many in the world with their heads hanging down. I strive to help lift others eyes to God. I have the privilege of teaching 16 and 17 year old youth in Sunday school. I feel it an honor to help inspire faith in todays youth. I have found that young people are so hungry for knowledge and understanding about God. They want truth in its purest form. I am pleased to give it to them in heavy doses. We have recently finished going through the New Testament. Their understanding of Jesus Christ and his mission has grown tremendously. Most importantly I believe I have been an instrument in Gods hands to help these young people feel of the Spirit each week and come to understand a little better that God loves them.
