Hi I'm Kendra

I love writing poetry. I have a wonderful family. My favorite things are volleyball, elephants and the color purple. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a large family that makes up a lot of my life--I have lots of sisters, and two nephews that I absolutely adore. I miss them a lot as I am going to school, but it is great furthering my education. I love to play sports, especially volleyball. I love being able to express my self through poetry and really enjoy English. I am excited for when I can start a family of my own and hope to make a positive influence in the lives of those around me. I love Elephants and would really love to visit Africa one day to see all the animals and help the people there.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into a family that belonged to the Mormon faith, I have worked to come to find out for myself of the truth of this gospel. So many times in my life I have felt alone and lost in this chaotic world, however, it is through Jesus Christ and His atonement that I find peace and strength to keep me carrying on. I have read the Book of Mormon and asked God if it was true. I have tested out the principles that this church teaches and have come to know for myself of the truth that lies within this Gospel. I know that I am happiest when I am seeking to know my Savior and Father in Heaven and working to find out what their plan for my life is. I want to do all that I can to please my Father in Heaven and to be prepared to meet Him and my Savior. It is through this church that I feel I can best accomplish this. I know it to be true and the hope and strength that comes to me because of it is irreplaceable.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by daily seeking to come closer to my Savior. This includes the way a dress, talk, think, and act. It affects how I treat those around me, how I treat myself, and my attitude towards life. It includes deciding not to watch certain movies or partake in certain activities. Right now in my church I serve as an Indexer. I get to use pictures of old censuses and convert them to computer documents so that people around the world can do their family history. It is really cool to be able to help with these records and make it easier to tie the links of their families together. I love this work that I get to do! I love that I am able to grow closer to the Savior as I try to follow the example that Christ led during His life on this Earth.
