Hi I'm Joseph

I grew up in England and now live in Canada, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in England in a large family; my parents were often quite busy so I would occupy myself pulling things apart. I loved electrical and mechanical things or anything simply dangerous. As a teenager I had a couple of passions namely: electric guitar and riding off road motor cycles. When I finished high school I went to college to learn auto mechanics, I still work as a mechanic now. In my early twenties I started boxing, but since moving from England to Canada I haven’t done as much. I now have a small family and attend university part time.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young man I stopped going to church when my parents divorced; however, as I got a little older and spent my time mostly in selfish pass times, I started to question many things and eventually became unhappy and discontent with my life. It’s at this time that I began to read the scriptures and to more fully contemplate what I should do with my life. I thought that the answer was to go backpacking around Europe or across America, or to adopt some new philosophy about life. I continued in this unhappy state for some time and eventually even quite my job thinking that I needed a change of employment, but it didn't solve anything! One day my mother asked me if I would like to attend church with her ( she is an active member of the LDS church) I agreed and the next day I went to church, it was the first time since I was a teenager that I had been to a sacrament meeting. Changing my life was difficult and I had some really difficult times. Since making a commitment to Christ, I have seen my life change drastically; I have received many blessings and have also seen my own abilities increase and my nature change. Joining the church did not solve all my problems, but did give me hope and it helped me to begin to overcome and to change.

How I live my faith

Serving helps me to change and become less selfish, more efficient and generally happier. Its not without its challenges', but I believe it is definitely worth it.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Joseph
I believe we have a prophet on earth today and his name is Thomas S. Monson. Just like them of old he holds the authority to minister to God's children and is entitled to receive guidance for the whole human race. Moses loved the Israelites even when they were sinful and troublesome and I'm sure our prophet feels that same love for us today. Show more Show less
