Hi I'm Brock

I'm a photographer, a web designer, currently a dad-to-be, husband to an angel, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy the visual arts; it's what I'm decent at. Photography, primarily, but am starting to dabble more in web design, online marketing, graphic/identity work, and other related fields. I currently live with my wife who is amazingly awesome. If it wasn't for her, well, I would be all over the map! She helps me with anything and is the reason for the most amazing things in my life such as being able to do what I love, being an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ, and a determined (but struggling!) family man!

Why I am a Mormon

I have learned that there really is a God. Despite my disbelief before, I realised I had never really put Him to the test. So I did. As I read the Book of Mormon and prayed every day, my life changed dramatically. Miraculously, all the addictions I had were removed. Temptations that lurked before when I had tried to quit on my own had vanished---I no longer had the desire to do it. I started having spiritual experience after spiritual experience. I could tell you I had them before, but not like this. There were too many coincidences for it to really be a coincidence. I just knew there was a God. The idea of prophets really struck home with me. It made sense that if God was the same yesterday, today, and forever, then there would be a prophet on the earth today, as well. I just didn't have that knowledge before so I was kept "out of the loop". As I continued to study and pray and witness the fruits of the modern-day prophets, it was evident that Christ's Church had been restored to the earth. It all just clicked. If Christ had a Church on the earth when he was here, it would make sense that His true Church should be available. As I learned that he was anointed and ordained, as well as having ordained his apostles into the ministry, it made sense that same priesthood ordination would be necessary for administrators and ministers in the Church today. And if Christ was baptized by John the Baptist who held this authority, well it made sense that I needed to be baptized by this same authority. I'm a mormon because I know Christ lived and provided a very orderly and organized way for one to receive joy and happiness in this life and salvation in the world to come, and I want to follow that way.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ and heed the counsel of prophets and apostles. I read and pray everyday, and I try to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost which tell me all things that I need to do. I know the Lord wants me to serve where I stand. I served an honourable mission in Australia. I strive to keep my temple covenants here at home, and strive to magnify any callings that I have been given from the Lord. I often fall short, but exercise faith daily to be able to qualify for the grace and mercy through the Lord's atonement. I look forward to making my family within the Lord my priority always heeding the admonishments of the Prophets and Apostles and the Lord to make the teachings of Christ an absolute priority within my home with things such as Sabbath Day and Temple worship, Family Home Evening, Friday Night Date Night, and other activities inspired of the Lord.
