Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello there, nice to meet you! I am a resident of the great state of Minnesota and I'm a father of three wonderful grown children. I am a jack of all trades, master of none, but I am employed as a tool and dye maker. I enjoy watching sports, framing artwork, and listening to all kinds of music from Bach to rock.

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion story. I was born, baptized, and raised in the Catholic faith. As life went on I drifted away from that path and I knew there was something missing in my life but couldn't figure out what was not there. The light never came on to what was missing. It wasn't a new house, or a new car. It wasn't a beautiful wife, or the clothes I wore. Even with having all that and living comfortably, there was still a void. The awareness of this void took a deeper plunge as my family grew and left home. This left me searching. Church to church, I began a journey to get reconnected somewhere, somehow, trying to find where I fit in. Over the span of ten years I attended 15 different churches from A to Z. It never dawned on me that I would experiment with the Mormon church, then one day two missionaries knocked on my door. With their help in understanding what the Church is about I came to realize the void in my heart slowly began to be filled. With their teachings I learned to pray and gained a testimony that prayers are not only heard, but also answered. From this experience I have learned it is now MY belief that this is the way that God wants his church to be and He has shown me that, and will continue to do so.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the golden rule. I try to do unto others as I would want others to do unto me. I have also just began to assist in the missionary efforts in my surrounding community and I am excited to help others know of the joy that I have and find it for themselves. I've seen the strong family values and sincere hearts the members in my ward (congregation) have and strive to emulate their examples. The world would be a much better place if everyone were to have these qualities, because it strengthens those around them. Pay it forward to others who have voids in their life and don't know it.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

First you have to believe He is there and understand that He DOES hear your prayers and answers them. He truly knows you better than you know yourself. What matters to you, matters to him. He is sorrowful when you turn from him and stray away and rejoices with open arms when you turn and come back to him. He really is a loving Heavenly Father and wants to show us, His children, that he cares about us and loves each and everyone of us. I hope you take it to heart and know that YOU too can know for yourself He is there. You can talk to Him through prayer, heed the Prophet's voice, keep His commandments, read the scriptures, etc. All these things will strengthen your belief and understanding of Heavenly Father. Your relationship will grow and continue to blossom. Show more Show less
