Hi I'm Karla Allen

I live in Florida. I am married to a wonderful husband, I was blind for 9 months and I am a Mormon. .

About Me

I was born in China to German parents. We lived there and Hong-Kong until I was about 12 years old. We moved to Germany until my father was transferred to the U.S. two years later. I started High School in the U.S. and luckily was able to graduate as a Senior. My dad had been asked to return to Germany after three years and he requested a year's leave. After High School I attended various colleges and also studied abroad and finally graduated with a B.S. in Early Elementary Education. One New Year's Eve when I was about 30 years old my resolution was to attend church again. We had just moved to a new town in Louisiana and I knew there was something missing in my life. My grandmother in law who was at our party that night said: "Why don't you come to church with me?" I so admired and loved her that I said I would. Lo and behold she was a Mormon. I never knew about the Mormons all I had heard about was the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Naturally the logical progression of things, the Mormon missionaries started teaching me. I was baptized six months later June 27,1974. Becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the best decision that I have ever made. Just recently I had an experience that impacted me greatly. About 2 years ago I had a "giant" brain aneurysm that could have killed me. After the medical procedure I was left blinded, because of a miracle from God I can now see.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the principles the Mormon religion teaches. I have read the Book of Mormon and know that it is inspired by God. It is the history of the people that lived in Central and South America and is a second witness of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday.
