Hi I'm Jeff

I am one of 14 kids. I'm a husband. I'm a father of 3 perfect kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a large family. My parents had 9 kids and when my youngest sibling was 10, my parents decided 9 wasn't enough. They began adopting and I am now one of 14. I am the fourth oldest with two older brothers and an older sister. I grew up playing football and baseball. My brothers and I all went on to play college baseball and my oldest brother actually played for the Indians and the Reds. After multiple shoulder surgeries, I decided to move on with my life and served a mission in Rome Italy for two years. Upon returning I pursued a degree in Construction Management at BYU. While studying I met my wife. I got married in 2005 and now have 3 wonderful kids. I continue to play sports any chance I get and look forward to pass on my passion to my sons and daughters. The highlight of my day is coming home from a long day of work and being greeted at the door by my 2-year old son with a hug and a head butt followed by a plea to cuddle, watch football, and wrestle. I truly believe that "no success can compensate for failure in the family." My family is the reason I do everything. My greatest joy is when I am with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My family is the reason I love this Gospel. Coming from a family of 14 and having 3 kids of my own, I can't imagine a second without them in my life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ provides a perfect plan, explaining why I am here and where I am going. In this plan lies the ultimate goal: return to God with my family forever. The hope of an Eternal Family is what brings peace to my soul. It is this knowledge that drives me each and every day. I know that if I follow Jesus Christ I will be with my family forever. I know that this is only made possible through the atoning sacrifice of Christ. Through His perfect example and Atonement, He has paved the way for each one of us to find true joy. I have found this joy and will do whatever it takes to make sure I don't lose it. I know that Heavenly Father knows me and loves me. He is routing for me and will help me make the necessary choices that will allow me and my family to return to His embrace once more.

How I live my faith

I have the opportunity to work with the 14/15 year old young men in my church. It was at this age that I went through a difficult time in my life. I am greatful that I can mentor these young men to help them make the choices that I was not able to when I was that age. I am also the Varsity Scout Coach for the same group of young men. Each week we meet to go over merit badges and do other scouting activities, all preparing us for our yearly High Adventure. Two years ago we went on a week long, 34-mile hike in the Olympic Mts and last year we did a week long, 35-mile canoe trip on Ross Lake. These activities serve to strengthen these boys and help them learn certain life lessons not typically available/offered to other boys their age.
