Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a wife and mom. I'm a student... again. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young wife and mom, going back to school for the second time. I earned a BA in history a few years ago and have since decided to go to nursing school. I love school and I love the idea of one day being a nurse. My dream is to work in an emergency room, being there for patients in some of their most scary moments. When I'm not studying, I'm with my kids. We love to go to the zoo and take road trips to visit grandparents. We hang out around the house A LOT. I am just trying to soak up these years I have them at home because it feels so, so temporary! I love to run and take any opportunity I can to do it. I often think about the quote from Chariots of Fire after I run a route: "I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure."

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church. My parents were converts and joined when I was just a baby. I absolutely love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It sounds cliche, but I don't know where I would be without it. I am so grateful to have had it my whole life. The gospel gives me the spiritual guidance I need to raise and protect my kids. My family is my life. I know I need heavenly guidance to be able to do my very best in taking care of them and myself. By keeping the commandments and following health guidlines in taking care of my body, I know I can have the Lord with me helping me live my life to the fullest. Essentially, getting the most out of this life is what we are here for! Living the restored gospel of Jesus Christ does that!

How I live my faith

Right now, I serve as the president of the Young Women's organization of our congregation. I work with the girls ages 12-18 through teaching lessons on Sundays and having weekly activities to strengthen and nurture the girls through these tough teenage years. It's time consuming and difficult at times, yet it is so rewarding. The youth are such examples to me as I watch them persevere through daily adversity. I love those sweet girls so much. Of course, living my faith goes well beyond my church responsibilities... I live my faith by being a good neighbor and steadfast friend. I live my faith by helping out my classmates and doing my best at school. When opportunity arises, I let people know that I am LDS so that I can be a positive example of the church. I live my faith by doing the things that set me apart and make me different (in a good way!). I live my faith so I can be a light that people seek out in this dark world.
