Hi I'm Jim Fulks

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born during the "great depression", in 1932. I first learned about the Church twenty years later, in 1952, and was baptized in 1953. As a child and youth, I learned about Jesus Christ from the Holy Bible, but I didn't think it was very important. I have been blessed to receive an undergraduate college degree, majoring in earth science. My employment has been principally in industrial business management. I have a large family - 8 children, 26 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. love machinery of all kinds, especially automobiles. I do a lot of reading, mostly scripture and classical novels.

Why I am a Mormon

As a college student, I was impressed to re-read the Holy Bible, also to pray vocally. Soon afterward, I took a summer job in Utah, where I learned about the Church. I met many Church members, and, in particular, a beautiful young woman whom I wanted to marry. Her family introduced me to the Gospel, which I carefully investigated; just before we were married I joined the Church and continued to study and pray to build my testimony. The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price are very precious to me. I have had many inspiring experiences serving in a variety of Church positions. I have obtained my own personal witiness that God Lives, Jesus Christ is His only begotten son in the flesh, and that Joseph Smith was the prophet of the restoration. When my first wife died, it was my Church membership that kept me on the right path and I was able to find another wonderful companion to bear additional children and share my life. Joining the Church and marrying fathful Church members have been the most important decisions of my life. Christ's Gospel rescued me from a life of worldly pursuits and enabled me to make sacred eternal covenants in the Holy Temple.

How I live my faith

I have had the honor to serve in many leadership and teaching positions and also as a leader of a local congregation (Ward Bishop). My wife and I have had the privilege of serving a couples' mission microfliming genealogical records in New England.  We have had many spiritual experiences in our family through scripture study and Church service. We love our Heavenly Father and his son, Jesus Christ. We try our best to follow the teachings of both anciient and modern prophets, apostles, seers and revelators.
