Hi I'm Mariann

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona.

About Me

I belong to a family of 6 children. I am the 5th child out of 6. I have been married to my husband for over four years now. We are trying to start a family. I have worked with the physically and mentally challeged for about 10 years. It has been very rewarding and has taught me a lot about myself and about the world. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My Mother was an active member of the church while I was growing up. I loved going to church with her and feeling the peace that was there. I relied on church as a way to feel peace and find ways to cope with my problems. The moment I knew the church was true was when I was in my early 20's and I was becoming less active in the church. I challenged myself to read the Book Of Mormon and then prayed about it. I had an overwhelming peace come over me, and I knew in my heart that the book was true. The next day My bishop called and invited me to volunteer as a Sunday school teacher for a group of five year old children. I started attending church regularly and fell in love with the children that I served. Seeing all of the loving families helped me to realize that's what I wanted someday.

How I live my faith

One way I live my faith is by service. I have had some amazing service callings in the church! As a youth I was able to be a leader in the church youth programs and plan activities and outings. I took pride in working on goals that the church youth programs provided. As an Adult I was able to teach Sunday school for the five year old class for 3 years. I also helped out as an assistant librarian in my singles ward. When I got married and moved into a family ward, my husband and I were called to be in the nursery working with the 18-month to 3 year old class. This was an awesome experience for me. I was able to develop leadership skills and enjoy the laughter and fun of working with children. I also helped in the Cub Scouts program working with the 8 year old wolves. My callings give me an opportunity to learn, grow and serve others. (Mosiah 2:17 is one of my favorite scriptures)
