Hi I'm Brannick Tyler Riggs

Laughter is the best medicine! Except when it's grapefruit flavored...

About Me

You will never catch me without a smile on my face. I am a firm believer that God intended us to be happy, so that's what I do! I am the oldest of 5 children ages 20 (me), 17 (brother), 14 (sister), 2 (brother), and 1 month (sister), and absolutely love every single one of them! Family is super important to me, just as it is to God. Another thing is that I am super animated and love telling stories! I love to make life interesting and vivid. I play the piano (not well, but I play) and I sing (in the shower mostly), and hope to go into music for my career in electronic music! The Book of Mormon is my favorite book, but as far as fiction goes, my favorite book series would be the "Inheritance" cycle by Christopher Paolini. I'm a big movie goer, and will randomly quote movies throughout the day (favorite is Lord of the Rings). All in all, I'm just a regular guy who loves life!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in this church, but that isn't the reason I've stuck with it. There was a point where I was questioning everything that had been taught to me concerning Jesus Christ and my relationship with God, so I realized that I had to do some investigation for myself. I started by reading the Book of Mormon and learning about its teachings. There is a promise at the end that no other book of Christian scripture has that says if you will pray and ask God if this book is true, then you will receive an answer by the power of the Holy Ghost. I have read the Book of Mormon 4 times so far, and every time I read it, I make sure to ask God, my Father, if what I have read is true. Every time I do, I receive an answer that yes, it is true. I now know without a doubt that this is Christ's church on the earth, that there are prophets today who guide and direct us, and that the priesthood (the power and authority of God) is restored to earth once again.

How I live my faith

Currently I have put all of my dreams, goals, and wishes aside to go on a mission to proclaim this gospel to the world. Actually, I'm proclaiming the gospel to the people of Wisconsin right now, but hey, it's a start! I am out here for two years completely dedicating myself to this faith and Jesus Christ to teach people how they can be the happiest they've ever been, because that's really what makes me happy. Teaching people about Christ can be difficult at times, but it is the most rewarding thing I have ever done, and I'm not even halfway done! I know that two years seems like a long time, but compared to the rest of my life, it's only a little blip on the timeline. I'd gladly stay out here for more than that, but it's up to God!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Brannick Tyler Riggs
One thing I did was to read the Book of Mormon (cover to cover) and take Moroni's challenge. He says that when you have read the Book, to ask God if the book was true. I got down on my knees and asked my Father in Heaven if this sacred book was the true Word of God. He let me know through personal revelation that it was. Another good scripture is James 1:5-6. That's the scripture Joseph Smith read before he asked God to reveal which church he should join. If you have any questions about anything, ask God, and He, in His grace, will let you know the answer. Show more Show less
