Hi I'm Mike

I am a Mining Engineer who has been blessed to live around the world with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the proud father of five, three sons and two daughters. I am a mining engineer and hold a PhD. in Mining and Metallurgical Engineering. I started my career as a miner nearly fourty years ago. I operate a family business that provides managment services to mining companies. I also serve as an officer and director of a publicly listed mining company. My family and I have lived in several different countries and have enjoyed being with the saints where ever we have lived. We once lived in the largest geographical Branch in the church. I enjoy skiing, and basketball. We presently have 10 acres on which we are growing grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child I grew up with a catholic father and a christian mother. Two of my aunts were nuns. They could not agree on which religion we should be raised in. Following their devorce, my grandparents joint the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints and we too listened to the missionary lessons. We were converted (I was nine years old) and over a period of time my brothers and sister and I have blossomed in life because of the teachings of the church. I have remained active in the church because it is true. I have study the scriptures, prayed to know the truthfullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and have learned by the wisperings of the spirit that Joseph Smith Truely was directed to restore the gospel of Christ to the earth. He was truely directed by heavenly personages. I have put the teachings of Christ as taught by the Church of Jesus Chrsit of Latter-day-Saints to the test and can testify that they are true. There is a prophet on the earth. Christ is directing the affairs of his kingdon (church) on earth and peace and safety can be found for oursleves and our families by following the precepts taught by Christ and his servance. Of this I can bear testimony.

How I live my faith

I think that I most actively live my faith by searching the scriptures and trying to become more like the savior. Like all mankind, I fall short of this goal, but strive to be a better father, husband and member of my community and society in General. I am active in my community and church by serving as a volenteer and presently work with other men to support and strengthen other members of our faith. I volenteer at a nursing home to provide church services to those who are unable to come to a church bio;dfor I have been able to serve as a youth leader as well as with children and adults. How can we say we have faith in Christ if we are not trying to help one another become better individuals, families and communities.
