Hi I'm James W. Baldwin

I'm a student, ROTC Cadet, A cook. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from the great state, Texas. I have never really stayed in one particular place my entire life, I've lived in Texas, Alaska, Oregon, Texas, Missouri, Virginia, Eastern Europe, and currently now I reside in Idaho. My family converted to the church when we lived in Alaska, I served a two year mission, in the countries that once formed the country of Jugoslavia, (Yugoslavia). I own two business's once is a chocolate business, the other is an online store. I love the out-doors, I snow board, play paint ball, hike, soccer, running, all kinds of things. Currently I am a student of BYU Idaho, where I am studying International Relations, along with Russian, and also I am taking ROTC, and working on contracting with that National Guard. I'm the oldest of seven kids, Army brat, and an Eagle scout.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, religion wasn't all that important to me. My family converted to the church when we lived in Alaska, I was about...four? At the time. Playing with friends and doing other things were more important and interesting than sitting at church on Sunday for three hrs. I wasn't baptized till I was nine years of age, and even thin religion wasn't all that important to me, but as I got older, and was going to High School, it started to matter more to me. I started to enjoy it more, and learned so much from it. Before serving a two year mission for the church, I had gone through a lot of hard points in my life, what helped me pull through it was, turning to the Lord, and reading the scriptures, IE the Book of Mormon and the Bible. It helped me solidify my testimony that One: There is a God Two: He knows me, and loves me. Three: That Joseph Smith truly was a Prophet of God, and restored the Lords church on the Earth again, and Four: The Book of Mormon is the word of God and that with it and the Bible it testifies hand and hand that Jesus is the Christ.

How I live my faith

I constantly strive to better myself, and work on being a good example to others around me, also I look for opportunities where I can have a chance to share my beliefs with people that I meet, and also with others that I know. I'm not afraid to tell others what I believe in and know to be true. I love having gospel discussions, so long as it isn't "Bible bashing", but more a civil discussion, of sharing beliefs.

What is faith?

James W. Baldwin
Faith is what every person on Earth has and needs to live and survive. We all have faith in something. If it be God, leaders of our Government, friends, parents, etc. Faith is what drives us to survive. If we don't have faith then their isn't much use in living. The foundation of faith is hope. We hope in all things, and we believe in all things. Believing isn't seeing but knowing is believing. The greatest tool to survival is to have faith, it is the driving force that keeps us going and filling us with the desire to live. Show more Show less
