Hi I'm Marcus

I'm a ping pong master, I love reading the Book of Mormon in my Snuggie, I quote movies every day and... I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in West Jordan, Utah. In 9th grade my family moved to the Dominican Republic for my dad's work. We lived there for 3 years. I am the 4th of 5 children. Throughout High School I played basketball, volleyball, soccer, and tennis. I love sports! More recently I have devoted my life for 2 years to the service of the Lord. I am serving a full time mission in San Antonio Texas.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to grow up in a family that was active in the church. I never really saw the importance of seeking out and finding my own testimony because I had my parents to lean on. Then in my years in the Dominican Republic I had to decide how I was going to live my life. I read the Book of Mormon sincerely and studied it. I prayed and came to my own knowledge that these things are true. Now I stay active and devout because I have seen the blessings that come from living the commandments in my life. I love my family so much and want to be with them forever and I feel so much peace and comfort knowing that can become a reality through this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live and enjoy life every day! Just because I have morals doesn't mean I don't have fun; I just have good fun. I love the analogy of the kite and its string. Most people would think that the string holds the kite back from soaring even higher, but truly the string creating that resistance to the wind allows the kite to fly. I have guidelines and many tell me that they hold me back, but really the things that I have decided I will and will not do allow me to live a peaceful life without unwanted worries. Whenever situations arise that could allow me to compromise my morals I think about what I'm fighting for and what my goal is in the long run. I don't give up what I want most for the things that seem appealing now.
