Hi I'm Nola

I'm a Mormon. I am a grandmother and love my family.

About Me

I love being a mom, sister, and grandmother of 14. I love traveling and getting to meet people from all over the world. I served on the Anchorage Women's commission and Victims for Justice board. I love to watercolor and read. I taught school, and it was always an adventure. The best part of life is being with children, they make me laugh and think out of the box. I love my husband of 44 years, we are best friends. We served a mission together in South Florida. It was so fun, we have friends now from Haiti, Central and South America. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I have been a member since I was 8, and have had my fill of family tradgedies. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. I know that having this truth in my life has guided me and helped me survive when all hope was dim. I have been bouyed up and comforted. I love my family so much, and know that I have been sealed for all time and eternity with the best possible people. I survived that grim disease after 7 years of treatment. I love the Savior and I am grateful for His atonement. I love the scriptures, and have a tender love for our Heavenly Father. I love being obedient and following the commandments.

How I live my faith

I have worked with the youth for many years. I taught early morning seminary at 6:00 am in Alaska. Can you imagine teenagers getting up at six and going to class in the dark and cold. It was fun, and they are amazing youth. I have gone to girls camp and never had so much fun, laughing and hiking. We have sung together, played together, and studied the gospel together.
