Hi I'm Jake

I'm studying engineering. Work with AutoCAD. Married to a beautiful woman. Happy to live near both our families. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am college student that juggles school, a full time job at an engineering company and my home life. In highschool life was fun, hanging out with friends and running track like the 4x100m relay race. I also worked in highschool at a Frozen Custard shop where 3 of my older siblings had worked. The best part was the free food on pay days. After high school I went to 1 semester of college. I put it on hold so I could teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone who would listen. I was called to serve in Germany. It was trully an amazing time of my life where I could focus all my time ad energy on serving Christ and God's children. After 2 years of being away I was able to come home and see my 3 brothers, 4 sisters, my parents and other family that I had missed and then trully appreciated having a great family after that long absence. I met a wonderful woman and after dating for a while we got married. Right now we don't have any kids of our own but I know that we will have that blessing one of these days. We are just enjoying life, our families, friends, dogs, going camping and just being together.

Why I am a Mormon

Jesus Christ set the perfect example how to love God and our neighbor. I truly want to be friendly to those I meet, be happy with myself, serve others, and work on being a better person because I know that is what God would want me to do. Although I was born and raised as a Mormon I continue to attend church and be a Mormon because in the world now where there is so much distraction away from God it is the one place that I know I can go and know that I can draw nearer to Him and feel his peace. I have felt God's answers to my prayers and I have felt His reality, existence and love for me and others even in those times of loneliness, doubt, and when silence is the answer to my prayer.

How I live my faith

I am able to live my faith on a daily basis, through prayer and reading the Holy Scriptures. But there are more opportunities to live my faith than focus on my relationship with God alone. There is awesome setting in the church called Home Teaching where me and another brother from the church get to go and meet families that attend church to see how they are doing and see if we could be of any service to them. I have also been able to teach sunday school to small groups of teenagers. Which is always amazing to be lifted up by younger peolpe but whose faith seem so strong. Attending church and serving others is a way that I can try and follow Christ's example and keep him centered in my life.
