Hi I'm Lindsey

I'm a university student, an artist, a writter, and a horsewoman. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read. I read art history books, classical literature like shakespeare, and other kinds of fiction. I traveled through Italy, France, Switzerland, and Germany to go to art musseums to see lots of art and architecture. I plan on traveling more in my life to see other places. I love horses and even had my own horse. I ride in the western style. I remember riding through mountains and coming to appreciate nature a lot more and enjoyed just being out on my horse. I came to love watching birds and foxes on my rides or in my time out in the pasture those are experiences I love. Horses were also a way that my family came together whether it was riding on trails together or working together to clean stalls we helped each other. I like to draw a lot just really quick basic sketches of black, white, and grey mostly. I draw a lot of animals but sometimes portraits of people or buildings.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have felt a great peace and completeness in my life because of it. Having the full gospel of christ is an amazing guide in my life and a blessing in how I can give advice to others to help them in their circumstances. I always knew there was a God but through the gospel I know how to communicate with him and what he expects of me. I know I am one of his children as we all are and I know each of us has the opportunity to come to him. I know that this church helps me come to Christ and to an understanding of him. I feel that anything that truly makes you want to be a better person and promotes you to do good is of God and I feel I have many opportunities here. Those opportunities give me the opportunity to become more christlike and follow in his example.

How I live my faith

I served as the newsletter coordinator for the our womens group. I was responsible for informing them about events that were going on in our group through the week and in sharing spirituatlly uplifting thoughts for the month from our church leadership. I would also visit teach some of the other women in our ward. In this we were able to not only get to know each other but find out how we could help each other. In visiting teaching we have a spitirual thought and there were some very good discussions that came from them. These discussions helped us teach one another and remember that which we already had learned.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No as followers of Christ we follow his example and help anyone of any faith, race, or nationality. The church has humanitarian programs that bless those throughout the world. But also we look for service in our communities, neighborhoods, and other places close to home. Also beyond things like food and shelter we understand the importance of the good word of God by helping others learn about how they can come closer to their Heavenly father and reach their true potentials as children of God.
