Hi I'm Spencer

I was born in raised in California. My parents are my heroes. I'm a baseball player. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family and I don't know what I would do without them. They are my foundation, my backbone and inspiration. Right now I'm studying communications and playing baseball at Brigham Young University Idaho. 5 years ago I began my two year service as a missionary in Sydney Australia and loved it, and still miss the life long friends I made there. I love sports. I grew up playing baseball all of my life, and now I play here at my school, and am grateful for the opportunity to play when for years I thought high school was the end of the road. I recently started playing ice hockey, and can't see myself stopping anytime soon. My dream job is to work as a Sports Information Director for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a christian because I have seen the blessings of God's hand in my life, teaching me the lessons I was too stubborn to learn from anyone else, and reminding me who I am by surrounding me by amazing people. I know His son is my personal Savior, and I have felt the burdens of my imperfections lifted by placing my faith in Him. I am a Mormon because I know that the priesthood has been restored through living prophets, and those prophets speak to Him and guide us today. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that through him, the true order of God has been restored in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I do not worship Joseph, but I admire him for his humility and the personal sacrifices he made to do the will of the Lord.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to be my best everyday. I know I'm not perfect, and as cliche as that sounds, I will be the first to admit that I wish I could be better. I am currently in a student singles' congregation where I am the organist and pianist, depending on the Sunday. I love my calling because I love music, and I get to share my talents with others. I do my best to be the best roommate I can. I know that it is the small things in the small moments that define us. I believe that by consistently doing the small things makes doing the bigger things second nature and that much easier in and outside of my apartment. I love sharing my faith with others. Although I attend a University of predominantly LDS people, I thrive on the opportunities I get outside of school to share the restored gospel with others, especially the Book of Mormon.
